Job Title: Red Hat OpenShift Platform Engineer

Rate: 75$ to 78$ per hour on W2

Position Overview

The Red Hat OpenShift Platform Engineer will build, expand, patch and operate enterprise OpenShift clusters supporting a rapidly growing container platform.

The engineer will balance production maintenance with net-new cluster provisioning and support the migration of workloads from a legacy HashiCorp Nomad-based platform to OpenShift. This role requires strong OpenShift, Kubernetes, Red Hat Linux and platform-troubleshooting experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and configure net-new Red Hat OpenShift clusters
• Execute OpenShift patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation and platform maintenance
• Troubleshoot cluster, node, operator, networking, storage and certificate-related issues
• Validate cluster health, capacity, resilience and readiness before and after changes
• Support the operational work required to migrate workloads from the legacy Nomad platform to OpenShift
• Assist the existing on-call team with defined platform activities and incident troubleshooting
• Create and improve runbooks, provisioning procedures and reusable automation
• Maintain complete technical documentation and cross-region handoffs
• Participate in scheduled after-hours and weekend maintenance when production coordination requires

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience administering Red Hat OpenShift
• Experience with OpenShift cluster provisioning, upgrades and day-two operations
• Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes nodes, pods, deployments, services, operators and scheduling
• Experience using the oc CLI, platform logs, events and metrics to diagnose failures
• Experience with cluster networking, persistent storage, identity/access and certificate dependencies
• Experience working within formal change-management, incident-management and security processes
• Ability to support the assigned regional shift and scheduled maintenance rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• OpenShift automation using Ansible, Terraform, GitOps or similar tooling
• Experience building multiple enterprise clusters from standardized patterns
• Experience migrating workloads from HashiCorp Nomad or another container platform
• Red Hat or OpenShift certification
• Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated industry
