A held breath. A fraction of silence before a word. The timing of a sigh.
In the NFF Focustalk 'What Silence Says', Nina Hartstone, aka the queen of ADR, took us into the invisible language of film sound. Known for Bohemian Rhapsody, Wuthering Heights and Saltburn, she gave a hands-on masterclass in dialogue editing, ADR and recording loop groups. Moderated by DFSA board member Melle Postuma de Boer.
Edited for length; copyrighted clips were left out and the audience questions have been re-enacted.
Thanks to Nina, Melle, the Netherlands Film Festival and the DFSA.
